Clare Cook (she/her) CEO

Clare joined Soundabout in April 2018 having had 18 years experience in the charity sector, including Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, Child Bereavement UK, Christian Aid and most recently, the charity Missing People.

Clare’s creative approach to fundraising and communications came to the fore when she co-founded the Missing People Choir for families missing loved ones. The choir generated global awareness for the charity, and found three missing people,  when they reached the final of BGT 2017. Clare was responsible for the charity’s award-winning partnerships with Royal Mail and BHS, and the high profile annual campaign, Big Tweet for Missing Children. Clare is a passionate believer in the power of music to give a voice to those who otherwise might not be heard.


Hollie Hunt (she/her) Family Support Coordinator

For over 10 years, Hollie has been working with children, young people and families across the public and voluntary sectors. Hollie joined the team in 2021 and her role is to be point of contact for all families already accessing, or new to Soundabout, and make sure they know about all of the exciting musical opportunities the organisation has to offer.

With a background in participation, Hollie is passionate about everyone having a voice and that disabled people have a key role in planning and developing the services they will use.


Inès Murer (they/she) Admin Intern

Inès is a graduate in Composition from Trinity Laban Conservatoire, London. They joined Soundabout in September 2021 with a willingness to work in a charity and expand their knowledge in workshop facilitation. She is passionate in building a creative practice that can be accessed by everyone, breaking the barriers between different art disciplines, gender, ability and race through collaborative techniques.


Jo Colton (she/her) Director of Programmes

With over 20 years experience working within voluntary sector organisations, Jo began working for Soundabout in 2014. Jo’s role is to manage all our community programmes where we work directly with families, schools and care providers to bring exciting musical experiences. Jo’s previous work and volunteering have taken her around the world by way of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and inspired a degree in Anthropology followed by a Masters degree in Gender, Culture and Development.

Jo’s interest in working with people with disabilities led to a career break to live in L’Arche, a community for people with and without learning disabilities.


Justin Rees (he/him) Finance Manager

Justin’s career has been as a financial management specialist within the public and charitable sectors. As a qualified Chartered Public Finance Accountant and with experience in the health service, education and not for profit sectors Justin’s role is to formalise financial processes within the charity, focussing on reporting and financial planning.

Katie Bunney (she/her) Business Administator

Katie is a Masters student at the Royal College of Music in London, where she is grateful to be a Headley Trust Scholar. Katie graduated from St Catherine’s College, Oxford with a First Class BA (Hons) Music in 2021. She joined Soundabout as an Admin Intern in the same year, having volunteered with the organisation since 2020. Now the Business Administrator, Katie’s role enables her to combine a love of music with a desire to make a difference in the charity and community music sectors.


Maryse Degbegni (she/her) Operations and Finance Manager

Maryse studied Biochemistry in France and has worked in Clinical Research for approximately 12 years. After volunteering in Burma in 2018, Maryse decided to change career for a more meaningful and fulfilling job in the charity sector. Maryse took up an internship with Soundabout to get more experience in the charity sector and to try and make the world a better place.
