Graduates Take on NAIDEX
Soundabout Graduate Emerging Leaders, Lilly and Thomas, represented the charity at this year’s NAIDEX. NAIDEX is the annual National Accessibility Inclusion & Disability Expo that takes place at the NEC Birmingham, attended by thousands of people.
Lilly and Thomas led a Soundabout Choir workshop open to guests attending NAIDEX. The pair worked hard preparing activities in advance, arrived early to set up the space and practice, and then delivered a 45 minute workshop!
The pair taught attendees a Soundabout ‘Hello’ song and got to know guests names by visiting them with their microphones.
Thomas then led a brilliant warm up inspired by Freddie Mercury. Lilly led a fantastic warm up that got us using our bodies!
The pair then taught the attendees two favourite Soundabout choir songs; ‘Here Comes the Sun’ and ‘500 Miles’. Lilly taught the guests some brilliant signing and Thomas helped the guests with the melodies!
To wrap things up Lilly and Thomas finished by leading a ‘Goodbye’ song.
Thomas and Lilly showed great leadership, confidence, and musicianship throughout the workshop!
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Thomas and Lilly for leading a fantastic workshop and representing Soundabout at such a prestigious event!
