Launching the 30 and Beyond Fund
Thirty years. Thousands of lives changed. Countless moments of connection.
In 2027, Soundabout will celebrate 30 years of breaking down barriers through music, sound, and silence.
Music changes lives, and over the past three decades, Soundabout has been a catalyst for that happening every day. We’ve seen the transformative power of music in enabling Learning Disabled people to express themselves, build friendships, grow confidence, and improve wellbeing though the power of music and sound. Today, that work is more important than ever.
Last year alone, Soundabout reached more than 2,250 Learning Disabled people with complex support needs, alongside their families and carers, through more than 1,250 music-making activities. We also delivered training and development opportunities for families, care staff, educators, and music professionals, helping to create more inclusive musical communities across the UK.
However, as pressures on SEND services continue to grow, and competition for charitable funding increases, the demand for our work is rising at a time when securing income has become increasingly challenging.
Nobody can deny that times are tough financially, and this includes for Soundabout, which is why we’re launching the 30 and Beyond Fund this August.
This special campaign is our way of saying that we need you to help us keep our vital services running, so that we can ensure that Learning Disabled people can continue to access life-changing opportunities through music for many years to come.
Your donation will help us to:
- Keep life-changing music sessions accessible to those who need them most.
- Continue providing specialist practitioners and sensory resources.
- Maintain one-to-one and group programmes that build communication, confidence, and connection.
- Strengthen and sustain Soundabout’s work for future generations.
- Grow opportunities for Learning Disabled people to thrive through music.
At its heart, Soundabout’s approach is person-centred, inclusive, creative, and tailored to the specific needs and interests of each individual that we work with. This allows individuals to communicate and express themselves, build friendships and have fun, and experience an improved sense of wellbeing through interacting with the world around them through music.
As we approach celebrating 30 years of impact, we’re also looking ahead to the future and this campaign will help us reach our 30th anniversary, while investing in the next chapter of our journey beyond this.
Will you help us create a future of possibility for Learning Disabled people through music and sound-making?
Please Donate to the Soundabout 30 and Beyond Fund today.
