Royal Recognition
On Thursday 3rd April, Soundabout’s contributions to the Community Music sector were celebrated at a reception hosted by King Charles.
Soundabout Practitioners Ben and Ellen, and Soundabout’s CEO, Holly, represented the charity alongside community musicians from across the country at Windsor Castle.
Alongside Ben’s many community music projects, he is a brilliant accompanist for Soundabout Choirs, most recently supporting the Soundabout Gloucestershire Choir.
Ellen, an equally busy community musician with an incredibly varied portfolio career, currently works across Soundabout Choirs, plus Soundabout’s Emerging and Graduate Leader programmes.
The trio enjoyed a short concert in the Waterloo Chamber followed by a reception in St George’s Hall. This was the first reception specifically for supporters of Community Music and the team were delighted to represent Soundabout at such a momentous event. The team then met King Charles and spoke about Soundabout’s work!
Soundabout’s CEO, Holly, commented: “As a small charity we are incredibly busy working hard to offer our programmes and support our community. We don’t often get the opportunity to stop and celebrate our work. I am incredibly proud of that Soundabout has been recognised and would like to thank everyone who makes the magic happen every day!”
