‘If only every day could be SoundFest Day’

On Thursday 23rd July, we partied with you from morning to night at the Soundabout Summer Festival, SoundFest: The Resonant Rave. With more of you joining the festival than ever before, and comments like ‘If only every day could be SoundFest Day’ as the festival came to a close, we think you might agree that this may have been our best Soundabout Summer Festival yet!

Throughout the day, Soundabouters from across the UK joined the festival on Zoom with their families, carers, and supporters, singing and vocalising, listening and playing sound-makers, and dancing and moving to a whole host of festival-themed, multi-sensory, inclusive music-making.

While it’s hard to pick out just a few highlights, favourite sessions included getting our groove on with the disco divas at the Goddess Sensation Stage, relaxing and restoring our energy at the Healing Fields in the early afternoon, and really feeling the beat at Drop the Bass: Big Beats.

The final notes of the festival rang out with The Superskas on the Headliner Stage. Described by one parent as bringing ‘incredible energy’, they certainly lived up to their main-stage status.

Following the festival, parents and families also told us:

‘She just loves you all, and a whole day of hearing all of you is her idea of absolute heaven. So well thought out, and the sessions are amazing.’

And,

‘Yet again A was living her absolute best life, fully embracing the party vibe and the house was full of laughter all day! We had various visitors throughout the day, carers and family, who all joined in and were absolutely invested in joining the festival and couldn’t believe what you’d managed to create, across an entire day of celebration! … These days just get better and better.’

We are truly grateful to our incredible Soundabout practitioners and team members, whose creativity and festival spirit helped to make this the best Soundabout Summer Festival that we could have hoped for.

And to you, all of our wonderful Soundabouters, thank you for bringing your laughter, smiles, and boundless energy to the party. This is what made SoundFest: The Resonant Rave really come alive!

We’ll see you at the Soundabout Summer Festival 2027!
