Soundabout Is A Double Finalist At The Youth Music Awards 2025!
Youth Music has just announced the nominees for the Youth Music Awards 2025, in association with Hal Leonard Europe. We’re over the moon to share that Soundabout is a finalist for not one, but two awards!
First up: the incredible Rebecca Tunley, our Family Support Coordinator, is nominated for Inspirational Music Leader.
Next: our pioneering Emerging Leaders Programme is nominated for the Outstanding Project Award.
Rebecca Tunley – Inspirational Music Leader Nominee
Rebecca is dedicated to using music and sound to support Learning Disabled young people. Her caring, selfless, and thoughtful approach delivers a deeply personalised service that supports families across our programmes.
We know that Rebecca puts her heart into her work because she genuinely wants to make a difference to the lives of others. Her impact is far-reaching and, amongst a wealth of other work, she connects families with vital internal and external services, leads on crucial accessibility resources, has supported Arts Award qualifications being achieved by Learning Disabled young people at Soundabout, delivers bonus sensory music sessions, and always gets involved in wider fundraising activities.
Emerging Leaders Programme – Outstanding Project Award Nominee
The Emerging Leaders Programme is an innovative programme supporting Learning Disabled young people to become the next generation of creative professionals. Led by the ambitions of these young people it is challenging what we mean by ‘leadership’ in the sector, while pushing the boundaries for opportunities in creative employment.
We know that the Emerging Leaders Project is breaking new ground. In a world where Learning Disabled people are underrepresented in the workforce, especially in creative industries, this project is taking a bold step forward, tackling barriers head-on, and opening career pathways.
By nurturing each Music Leader with bespoke support, the programme builds confidence, employability, and independence for participants and graduates. And it’s helping Soundabout to shape a future workforce that’s more diverse, more representative, and more inclusive.
We honestly can’t imagine Soundabout without Rebecca, and we’re incredibly proud of how the Emerging Leaders Programme is filling a vital gap in our industry.
