Soundabout Secures a Youth Music Catalyser Fund Grant

Soundabout is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a Youth Music Catalyser Fund Grant, enabling us to continue redefining leadership and accessibility in music.

This funding will strengthen our pioneering work in creating employment opportunities and career pathways with Learning Disabled young people. It will also help us in continuing to diversify the workforce by focusing on accessible and inclusive career development and opportunities. Through this support, we will further equip the wider workforce of musicians and practitioners to work musically with Disabled children and young people with complex support needs, while continuing to offer music delivery as a training ground for workforce development.

The grant will also allow us to continue to develop and deliver our online interactive music-making sessions. We know that these sessions are vital for our families whose loved ones are unable to leave home, hospices, and hospitals to attend in-person sessions.

In addition, we will invest further in the training and development of our highly valued Soundabout music practitioners. This includes creating CPD-accredited training modules and resources for all musicians and practitioners who work musically alongside Learning Disabled people with complex support needs.

We look forward to sharing updates as this exciting work unfolds, made possible by Youth Music’s continued recognition of Soundabout’s unique work. A heartfelt thank you to Youth Music, and Arts Council of England, for helping us to make this vision a reality.
